VHT Niteshading (smoking) the lights? My guess since I've done this before and know what's involved.

since you've cut out the lights from the whole part, i'd say just removing that middle section and maybe painting it the same as your base coat

Strobin was right. I will get pics of my DULL ass tinted tails. This is twice now and i used 2 different methods both times. I used dupli color and as soon as i applied the clear it got dull the VHT was shiny and i sanded with 2k grit between every coat. Do you think a body shop could clear them and get them to shine??

Hate what things? Cans of VHT? Or tinited tails? lol They are illegal and if the person doe it right the light output should be just fine. Its a translucent paint and this is what its made for lol

I see quite a few people with dull tails after VHT. The process I did was: 800 grit clean sprayed multiple coats of VHT until I liked the shade couple coats of clear let them dry for a day sanded them smooth with 2000grit brought back the gloss with Dual Action Buffer a swirl-remover and here is the results

My brother just had the guy that paints at his work to paint his tails to looke tinted. It looks really good and hasn't faded

Yea shops dont use VHT. They usually use a mix of black paint and clear coat so it thins it out and makes it translucent. I think i have the pics now let me go check and i will post them.
