So, I was watching the 2nd National Treasure movie, and just loved the sound that Ben's parter, the one who got the viper, i think? Reguardless the sound it made once he pushed the button made me want one soo bad Sooo I was going to make a project outta it, todo on the suburban before buying my new car. I can mess this up and not have a loss really So using some basic tools and a wiring schematic of my suburbans wiring harness i'll be using a Engine Start button, originally from the S2000 Has anybody done this before? If so or if not so, can you think of anything I should look out for *I'll be using a Boush 5-pin SPDT Relay and probably use the 12volt constand and ground from an existing cig lighter (which i'll cut out)

I had the button for a couple months, never got around to installing it and then I lost interest in having it so I ended up selling it. Good luck with it.

thanks for the link viper
one of the comments raised my next question
how could i relay this setup, so that i don't need any extra switch to make sure pressing the "engine start" button wont grind my starter while my car is running?

alright, if anybody was watching this thread i think i've found a solution to grinding the starter while the car is still on. i believe using a SPDT relay instead of SPST will prevent this from happening

I believe that there are some push-button starter kits around the net...

what year is the vehicle? what ind of factory anti theft is on it? if it has a passkey system, chances are very low for a pushbutton start working

it'll either go onto an 02 Chevy Silverado 1500 extended cab short bed
or an 96 Mustang GT coupe hardtop
not the suburban, this is strictly for the new car coming in. I heard of some cars having a VAT's system that may produce some kinds of problems and the locking cylinder probably

usea relay so that when the car starts a 12v ignition source turns it on and causes it to open the NC contact set thereby disabling your push switch. or just punch your dipshit friends hard in the lips every time they go "oooooooo a button! GRRRRRINSDDDDD"
or stuff it in gear with the car off but the steering unlocked and hold the button down and cruise around on eco=friendly electric power!
